The 2000 kW Cummins Diesel Generator EPA Tier 2 (Prime) Parallel Unit is a high-capacity power solution consisting of two 1000 kW diesel generator sets configured for parallel operation. Designed for Prime/COP applications, the system combines Cummins diesel power, Stamford brushless alternators, and DeepSea synchronization and load-sharing controls for demanding commercial, industrial, and infrastructure power requirements.
Each generator is powered by a Cummins QSK38-G5 EPA Tier 2 diesel engine. The QSK38-G5 is a 12-cylinder, 37.7-liter, turbocharged and aftercooled engine operating at 1800 RPM. Cummins’ documentation describes the QSK38 as designed for standby, prime, and continuous-power applications and incorporates a Modular Common Rail Fuel System (MCRS), integrated electronic controls, and Cummins Turbo Technologies turbocharging.
Each generator is paired with a Stamford S6L1D-E41 self-excited, brushless alternator featuring AVR voltage regulation, Class H insulation, IP23 protection, and a 0.8 power factor.
The parallel system uses a DeepSea DSE8610 controller for synchronization. The DSE8610 is specifically designed for multi-generator load-sharing systems and provides synchronizing control, generator and bus sensing, integrated governor and AVR control, and automatic starting and stopping based on load demand or fault conditions.
Both generator sets are housed in soundproof and weatherproof enclosures, providing a complete 2000 kW parallel power package with customizable voltage and either single-phase or three-phase configuration options.
